What is Freemasonry?

For some Freemasonry is all about making new and lifelong friends. For others its about contributing positively to humanity by having the opportunity to aid those in need and to the society. However, for most masons, becoming a freemason is simply a hobby.

Masonry is a journey towards achieving self-fulfillment, where good men become better.

We strive to advance in masonic knowledge and uphold the universal principles of Freemasonry. We take pride in preserving our ancient customs and continually challenge ourselves to learn about the mysteries of Nature and Science.

At London West Africa Lodge (LWAL), we are fraternal, charitable, non-religious and  non-political organisation. We welcome good men of high moral standards from all walks of life regardless of race, religion or social status.

To become a member, you must acknowledge and believe in the Supreme God of the Universe in whom we put our trust.

LWAL is governed by the Book of Constitutions (Craft Rules) of the Ancient Fraternity of Free and Accepted Masons published under the authority of the United Grand Lodge of England. This contains the general Charges, Laws and Regulations that all members of LWAL subscribe to.
